# systemctl unmask

> Unmask units to make them startable again.
> This undoes the effect of `systemctl mask`.

- Unmask a service:

`systemctl unmask {{service_name}}`

- Unmask and start a service immediately:

`systemctl unmask {{service_name}} --now`

- Unmask a user service:

`systemctl unmask {{service_name}} --user`
